Welcome to Ranch Rugby's

Health and Fitness Section

Look here for rugby related health and fitness tips, guidelines, and general information. Ranch Rugby believes in the importance of overall health and fitness with an emphasis on appropriate conditioning. The old saying, "anything worth doing, is worth doing well" applies here. In the world of  health and fitness there are many, many opinions, experiences, views, and ideas; unfortunately, there is a great deal of passion and bias in the health and fitness world which makes it hard to sort through and know what is true and good, and appropriate. Equally unfortunate is the impact of the mighty $$$. Ranch Rugby applies best practices, research and science, and good ole' common sense as well as realizing that people are different and what works well for one, may not work well for all. So, pick and choose from our tips and advice and take advantage of what will make you a better rugby player as well as add to the overall quality of your life.

Melissa Nittoli:

Hey my name is Melissa and I’m a sophomore at Thunderidge High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado . My passions are singing, acting, and most of all playing rugby. In the past couple of months I’ve been working with Bryan at Max Muscle on a personalized nutrition plan and I have had a lot of good results. Before max muscle I wasn’t very healthy I weighed 204.4lbs. I was very frustrated because I tried all these diets and none of them ever worked. It was also hard for me because I would have to shop for clothes at older women’s stores. I really hated going shopping because I knew nothing was going to fit and none of the styles were what I really wanted. I was not only concerned about my outward appearance but also my performance on the rugby field. It was really challenging I was just so slow at running and at times I would have to stop and walk because I couldn’t continue without feeling light headed and out of breath. Now the Max Muscle nutrition plan has helped me slim down and I feel much better. My weight is at 172 pounds it’s just amazing! I feel like I have more confidence and I’m much better on the rugby field. The most amazing moment was when I was able to get a homecoming dress for someone my age and it fit! I’m still not at the weight I want to be but I know dedication and hard work will get me there. My biggest goal that I now focused on is making the Erfu girls rugby team. I’m pretty confident that with the help of max muscle I can make it happen. I would definitely recommend the Max muscle nutrition plan because it’s given me a whole new perspective on good foods that can help your body. It also helped me realize all the junk I had been putting in my body. Mbax Muscle really helped me slim down and tone my muscles with their help and supplements.

What is the main injury most commonly encountered during your season?

  • Soft tissue and muscular injuries that cause pain and decreased ranges of motion lead to inability to perform at your optimal level.

Dr. Kayla Bennett DC specializes in Active Release Techniques, a soft tissue treatment that
